You Can Choose to Be Wealthy

happy

Are you happy with what you currently have going on in your life in terms of lifestyle, time, and money?

If you can answer “yes” to the question, then this post is not for you.  There is no need for you to spend your valuable time reading things that don’t apply to you.  You might as well browse away from this post and go about your day.  In fact, you might as well unsubscribe yourself from my email list, if you are on my list, and I would not mind at all.  I am all for supporting people to be happy with what they have going on.

With that being said, I would like to offer you a thought as an alternative for you to consider if you answered “no” to the question.  I have previously shared about a rude awakening that I had to go through not too long ago which was the realization that having a job was the biggest lie ever told.  What I meant by it was the reality that if you work for someone, then you would be very limited in many aspects of your life from how you would have to spend your time to how much you could earn and so forth.

unhappyBecause of these limitations, I was unhappy with what I had going on in my life.  This is not to say that I was not thankful for all that I had been blessed with.  On the contrary, I am very thankful for everything that I have been blessed with and even the things that I don’t have.  But for me, the way I see life is that I have only ONE life to live.  I have only one chance during this mortal state to reach my highest potential.  We all have choices; we can choose to do nothing, do something, or we can choose to do everything possible to achieve our dreams while we still can breath.

I decided that I wanted to do my best to achieve the “ultimate freedom.”  What I mean by this is to have the ability to fully decide how I would use my time.  More specifically, I don’t want to ever have to worry about money.  I don’t want to ever have to worry about being at a certain place at a certain time in order to have enough money (job).  I want to be able to be where ever I want and whenever I want, yet money is to never be an issue as it is something that would just keep on coming (wealth).  What I just shared here is my ultimate personal dream life.

big-question-marksCan it be achieved and can such lifestyle ever be realized?  Some may say I am really just “dreaming” meaning that it is just “wishful thinking.”  Therefore, it is not possible to have what I depicted.  These people will typically just dismiss it and continue on their lives doing what ever they were doing and nothing will change for them.  Are you one of these people?  If you are then, again, all is good.  But if you are not and you are like me who want something different, who want the ability to truly be free or in one word, wealthy, then continue to read on this post.

For the rest of this post, I will be sharing a story that Richard Paul Evans told me and a group of hungry entrepreneurs at a Las Vegas wealth building seminar.  Evans is the #1 New York Times Bestselling Author of “The Christmas Box: 20th Anniversary Edition” and “The Five Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me About Life and Wealth.”

Evans said the first lesson that we need to learn in order to become wealthy is that we need to DECIDE to be wealthy.

He gave the example of this hungry guy who walked into a buffet and was asked by the waitress what he would like to eat.  The guy responded that he would have what everybody else in that room was having since it cost only $1.  After the guy finished eating, on his way out, he noticed another room that was much nicer with fresh food, spectacular furniture, etc.  He asked the waitress how much it would cost to eat there.  The waitress responded that it also cost only $1.  He then asked the waitress why she didn’t tell him that before.  The waitress responded that he had told her that he would have what everybody was having in the first room.

Get the point?

youdecideMost of us go through life settling for what the majority have settled for which was to be middle class and broke because we did not make a conscious decision to be wealthy.  If we truly want to be wealthy, we must DECIDE to be wealthy.  It took me 40 years to learn this one lesson.  I don’t know what stage you are in life, but don’t wait another 5, 10, 20, or 40 years to decide to be wealthy if this is what you want in your life.  If you truly want it, then decide NOW and start focusing everything that you do towards the achievement of that goal.

That’s true Richard. It should be taught in school, but it appears society does not want people to be free. The school system appears to have been designed really to just train people, those who are unsuspecting, to learn to do what others tell them to do. So people get trained ever since they enter grammar school to even when they get into college to do things a certain way. Sadly, I was a product of that type of training for most of my life. But after 40 years, I have awaken that I CAN choose to be wealthy.

This advice reminds me of the saying “You can choose to be happy.” Makes sense that you have to choose to be wealthy as well.

You are absolutely right Martina that you have to choose to be wealthy which is something that has to be done proactively. You can’t just think about it and let it be. Once you’ve chosen or decided, then it needs to be followed with actions that would lead you to your goals.
